Rationale:

The course focuses on the listening and speaking skills of students. It also exposes students to a holistic communicative environment in the classes where all the four skills of language learning – listening, speaking, reading and writing – are simultaneously taught to improve their language proficiencies.

 Objective:

 The aim of this course is to refine freshmen students’ ability to communicate effectively in English both in academic, professional and everyday life.

 Learning Outcomes:

 Upon the successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • use different English expressions related to their academic, professional and everyday lives
  • fulfill a variety of speaking functions and participate in routine conversations
  • give opinions and express arguments in easy English
  • perform better oral presentations with accurate pronunciation
  •  interpret audio visual materials
